Małgorzata Sobońska-Szylińska EN

Managing Partner and Barrister at Gekko Taxens. She specializes in handling tax and court disputes and is one of the most respected lawyers dealing with penal-fiscal proceedings on the Polish market. She has represented clients in several hundred lawsuits, including those brought before administrative courts, common courts, the Supreme Court, the National Appeals Chamber and the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.

Małgorzata advises clients on administrative law, particularly in relation to environmental protection Act on Recycling of End-of-Life Vehicle. She has advised the largest automotive companies in Poland. She also specializes in intellectual property law and has cooperated with some of the largest publishing houses operating on the Polish press market and even worked in one of them as an in-house Legal Director. 

The national ranking of Dziennik Gazeta Prawna has twice recognized Małgorzata as a leading litigator in tax matters (3rd place in 2008; 2nd place in 2011). In 2015, the prestigious International Tax Review magazine named her one of the best Polish lawyers dealing with tax disputes.

In addition to completion of law studies at the Warsaw University in 1994, Małgorzata i.a. in 2021 graduated from MBA studies at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics.  

Since 2004 she serves as Council Member of the “Polki mogą wszystko” Foundation established by the Edipresse Polska publishing house. The Foundation’s main mission is to help children who have to overcome serious obstacles in life, as well as adults who struggle with problems such as disability, loneliness, poverty or rejection.
